I have been on the receiving end of so many SMS messages lately from scrapheads from all over the Metro. Some text me about the availability of fresh stocks and where. Some inform me about scrapping events that are up in the works (so I can't tell you about them yet until plans are final). Others tell me about great scrapping items and tools they wish are locally available.
The last one I would just normally post in the Wishlist section (by the way, have you added yours to the growing list?).
However when Ging (MemoryBox) texted me to check out The Cricut of ProvoCraft (PC) - sounding serious - (when a scraphead sounds serious about a tool) I knew it must be one that would be verrrrry irresistible. Cricut. Whaaat? CRICUT - pronounced like “cricket” (figures, Provocarft has the criket as the Cricut's mascot!)
I knew about the Wishblade cutting system because of Lala. Great tool actually. However I would have to admit I didn't drool over the Wishblade as I'm drooling over the Cricut now! *wipes drool off her chin*
The Cricut is a personal electronic paper cutting machine that does NOT need a computer to work. It works using “cartridges” --- a concept that's similar to having templates to work on your Sizzix --- to cut shapes, letters and PHRASES from 1 inch to 5.5 inches with just a push of a button! PC has quite a selection of great cartridges for the Cricut. You know how they are with the Sizzix right? I think we can be sure that the cartridges for the Cricut are just as great if not better (I saw the downloadable 8MB video! It made me drool!)
Its compact, lightweight and portable. You can actually carry it with you as a handbag to scrapping parties. Its a no-brainer: Insert the cartridge, put in your choice of paper and select your font or shape and press “cut!”
Best of all the machine sells for a little under US$300. (I don't have an idea of how much the cartridges are.)
Now go type cricut.com and see what's bound to be on every scraphead's wishlist this quarter. You too will soon hear the sound of the CRICUT calling you saying: “Buy me! Buy me!” *gawd!*
