Beyond scrapping our respective families and friends, what would YOU like to scrap IF YOU HAD THE TIME? (I know… I know… No scrapper would have enough time for everything! NO ONE, believe me. Haha!)

Your pets? (I consider them “family,” mind you!) Your precious, to drool-over bag collection (Ahem! Angela! I gotta see all of ‘em! Haha!) Your scraproom? (Oh Bea… Oh Bea… Oh Bea… We would love to scrap YOURS! :) What?

How about scrapping something for Mother Earth? Something that would help out a fantastic group of people create a greater awareness that CONSERVATION needs to be done NOW and fast? If you think scrappers aren’t good for anything other than merely scrapping “paper” – think again. HARIBON needs your passion to help spread CONSERVATION AWARENESS NOW. Yes YOU. A scrapper --- who hoards stuff like crazy and spends hours staring at your scrapping sheets… and who… oh you get it…--- would make such a GREAT difference!

Come to think of it - you are not only going to helping Mother Earth focus attention to the fast disappearing flora and fauna your children and great grand children might not be able to see anymore… YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE YOURSELF FEEL GOOD!

Ok… and another thing?
Do it well and YOUR WORK WILL LAND ON THE COVER OF THE NEXT HARIBON MAGAZINE. (These guys really pump up our adrenalin levels! Haha!)

Haribon will open a photo exhibit of endangered flora and fauna at the fourth floor of the Edsa Shangrila Mall Plaza on March 7 at 6:00pm. Haribon will showcase the photo competition entries that made it into their top 20.

Here’s the deal: They have printed the same exact photos in 5x7 sizes for US to scrap!

Here’s everything you need to know:

  1. Register using the form below for a scrapping slot. With 20 photos to scrap, scrapping slots are likewise limited to 20 --- the FIRST 20 registrants. First come, first served. The registration forms automatically get stamped with time and date of submission so we will quickly know who registered first. MyScrapworks send you a confirmation email if you are among the first 20.
  2. The scrapping competition is slated on Sunday, March 18 from 1:30-3:30pm (arrive at 1:00pm to register and to draw the number of the photo you will scrap!) at the 4th floor of the EDA Shangrila Mall Plaza where the Haribon exhibit is being held.
  3. Bring all the scrapping stuff (acid/lignin/pvc-free materials, tools, brain and guts) you will need to scrap a 12x12 layout ON THE SPOT for 2 hours.
  4. Your layout will be put on display side by side with the exhibit photo for the duration of the photo exhibit. It will be judged by a panel of representatives from Haribon Foundation. The top three winners will be named and awarded during ScrapMeet Three. We are working with Haribon to see if its possible to "borrow" and display all the entries during ScrapMeet Three - that is if their planned "auction" of all the submitted scrapped layouts can be put on hold (See? They need to raise funds for their various activities!)

All 20 scrappers will each receive a bag of organic goodies from Haribon and Opta. The top three winners will each receive great books courtesy of Time-Life publications.

The top entry will grace the cover of the coming issue of Haribon Magazine called Haring Ibon!

Haribon will also display all the scrapped entries at the Cultural Center of the Philippines during their Earth Day activities in April. Wow! Your layout is assured of TWO exposures (the photo exhibit and the CCP display) and the possibility of a THIRD – on a cover of a magazine! How cool is THAT?

Ladies… if there ever was a time you felt such guilty-pleasure over your hoard, the best time to get over THAT guilt is NOW… with Haribon… with a cause that truly matters --- CONSERVATION.

(Registration closed.)

PS: (Our very own) Din Cordero's photo made it into the top 20 entries for Haribon! Way to go Din!
