If you were in our shoes, women with 9-5 jobs, families and a deep passion for scrapping made evident with myscrapworks.com, what would you do differently for a third ScrapMeet?
The most immediate response would be to just keep on doing what we have done for the last two events:
- work on showcasing the freshest products available locally
- help out scrappers by teaching them new tips and tricks and
- in the barest of essences, give every scrapper a great day in the company of people who understand and indulge in the same craft/passion surrounded by items with the *drool and scream factors to the highest levels
That’s it right? Nah. Not if you are in the company of women who like to push the envelope a few yards further each time – and you wonder if these women can’t seem to leave well enough alone! Haha!
So what is in store for you for ScrapMeet3 aside from a full lunch BUFFET and afternoon snacks of the best Chinese fare this side of Manila? (Oh! So you do remember the disappearing dimsum and dumplings some people hoarded from the buffet table during ScrapMeet Two, right? Haha! I never got to taste ‘em too! Dang! (Sorry Jozzie, you can only have 'em precious dimsums here in Manila, honey! We can't send 'em via FedEx!) |

The Philippine premier of “Scrapped!”
Let me repeat that again – the PHILIPPINE premier of the movie “Scrapped!”
A ticket to ScrapMeet3 is already a premier ticket to the “docu-movie” US-based scrappers have been raving about (it had been featured in almost all the scrapbooking magazines you and I subscribe to!). There’s absolutely no excuse why you can’t see it - it is afterall, a movie about us and our passion for scrapbooking (and trust me) – it’s the best film to show your family so they will understand you better and why you scream your head off at the sight of a pretty sheet of scrapping paper!
You can always order a DVD copy of the film for US$14.99 exclusive of shipping charges. Uhmmm… that would cost roughly P750.00 plus shipping... The good news is that MyScrapWorks didn’t ONLY get the rights to premier the movie in this side of the world, we ordered 100 DVD copies of the movie to give to the 100 ticket holders of ScrapMeet Three!
Yup! If you buy tickets, you will automatically receive a DVD copy of the movie to bring home to your family (so they can better “understand” you when you come home with your shopping bags of scrapping goodies!)
More so, we would make you draw your own DVD copies for a chance to get hold of the few precious copies that come signed by Wes Thomsen himself! Double-wow! |

Then there’s another first:
The Valerie Salmon Sketch n’ Scrap Challenge
Who else to better kick-off an “open” scrap challenge than our first featured Inspiration series scrapper, our very own, Valerie Salmon?
Valerie so graciously (as always) sketched a layout for interested scrappers to execute in a 12x12 layout. She is personally donating all the prizes from her own stocks! To know more about the mechanics and the prizes for the challenge, click here.
Valerie will personally judge all entries as uploaded in a Gallery (we will soon bring online for this challenge) and select the winners herself to be announced and awarded in ScrapMeet Three! |

Then, there’s Haribon – and their campaign to create a greater awareness for the conservation and protection of endangered flora and fauna. MyScrapWorks tied up with them too! (Whoever said we only scrap for our families and ourselves hasn’t tried to scrap for something as grand as CONSERVATION yet.)
To know more about the Haribon challenge, click here (but click fast ok because there are only 15 slots available - 5 automatically goes straight to the writers of MSW who will all be there in support of Haribon). The one thing you shouldn’t forget is this: the winner doesn’t only take home great stuff from Haribon, but the winning layout gets to be the cover of the next issue of the Haribon magazine!
THE COVER. Beat that! Click here to find out more! |

Then there’s the Scrap Trivia
A fun question-and-answer about anything and everything scrap that could win you more than a thousand worth of scrapping goodies --- just by answering a few questions?! How great is that? Click the scrap trivia picture above to know more or better yet, CLICK HERE to register. There’s the individual and the team (of two) categories to choose from!
We are likewise set to announce the winner of the Manila Scrap Retailer of The Year – the voting is still ongoing until March 16 (we moved it from March 21 because we intend to give the trophy engraved with the name of the winning retailer instead of handing out a “generic”).
The following are nominated for the award:
A Lasting Impression by Vivian Uy
Memory Lane by Helen Chua
My Little Attic by Nenette Madero
Pressing Matters by May and Bea Chong
If you haven’t cast your vote yet, click here.
We still have a few surprises left that we plan to announce in the coming days. Yup. We still have some more “secrets” to keep – just for a few more days….
And you can bet they’d be as grand…. |
So let’s do some math… How much would it be for a premier…. A DVD copy with freight, a lunch buffet and afternoon snacks… and an afternoon of great scrapping fun surrounded by fresh scrapping stocks and people who scrap as passionately as you do?
Uhmmmm… P1,500.00?
No.
P1,000.00?
No.
P900.00?
No.
It's P850.
Youregetting the lunch buffet
the afternoon snacks,
the
continous raffle of goodies
AND a movie premier literally for FREE!
We are releasing 100 tickets only. And just like ScrapMeet Two (a hundred tickets sold in just two weeks), we don’t intend to sell any tickets at the gate. Click here to reserve your tickets.
Visit the website often for the last remaining secrets on why you shouldn’t miss ScrapMeet Three. |
